We live in a very technical world, and the results of cancer research need to be read and acted on with technical understanding. Epidemiology throws up challenges in preventative strategies; and a 21st century understanding of the complexities cancer is leading us to personalising therapies.
Many of the people who think about these problems and take part in decision making don’t have technical backgrounds. We believe that it is important to make ourselves available as hosts to people who have to make decisions. We can offer lab tours or science briefings to anyone who is part of the decisions making process.
Recently we have played host to our local MP, Andrew Smith, to members of the Oxfordshire County Council, and to the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire.
