Charles Conrad Memorial Award Winner

Joshua Freedman, DPhil student in Professor Seymour’s group has been awarded the prestigious Charles Conrad Memorial Award at the 11th International Conference on Oncolytic Virotherapy in Vancouver, Canada. 

Josh gave a spectacular presentation on his exciting cutting-edge research in front of a packed audience of international expert. 

Charles Conrad was a renowned Neuro-Oncologist and served as Professor of Neuro-Oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Centre. He had a special interest in brain tumours and in 2015 he joined the Texan Oncology-Austin Brain Tumour Center as Director of New Drug Development.  Charlie co-founded the gene therapy company DNAtrix and was its Chief Medical Officer until his untimely death on 28 May 2016.  His friends, family and colleagues have established this new award to mark his life and his major contribution to science.
